Customary Fishing Permits (Authorisations)

Please note: your permit will be accepted or declined based on the local knowledge of the (relative) health of that fishery and the quantity you are requesting.

A response may take 5-10 working days and may be dependent on a rohe moana committee hui.

Southern Harbour, Ruakākā, Uretiti, or Waipu
  • Green - The fishery is open. You are most likely to have your permit awarded if you enter these species
  • Orange - The fishery is variable and are not always guaranteed
  • Red - The fishery is closed.That fishery is off limits and needs time to recover.Permits requesting these are likely to be declined.
